SUMMARY:Tree Planting Demonstration Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us as GHEP hosts a tree planting demonstration/tree care education in collaboration with partners from the Neighborhood Design Center\, Riverdale Park and the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment. At the event\, FTAP families will pick-up their trees (with mulch\, stakes\, rope ties\, etc.) and participate in a fun\, tree demonstration with refreshments and group photo hosted by an FTAP volunteer family. Our Ethnomedicine Expert and consultant\, Dr. Magnus Azuine will be educating community members on the science and medicine of trees and plants. We are grateful to community hosts Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Ukaegbu for helping us in building strong communities by hosting this tree planting demonstration. The Family Tree Adoption Program (FTAP) is a grassroots community-based program that provides free native trees or shrubs to private homeowners in Prince George’s (PG) County\, Maryland. FTAP is helping to green our communities by increasing tree canopy\, which\, in turn\, will improve air and water quality\, community aesthetics\, and provide benefits for years to come. FTAP is building thriving communities by organizing multicultural communities around shared values of sustainable environment and improvement in human and community health. \n[fusion_countdown countdown_end=”2016-05-07 23:31:37″ timezone=”” show_weeks=”” border_radius=”” heading_text=”Your Content Goes Here” subheading_text=”Your Content Goes Here” link_url=”” link_text=”” link_target=”default” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility\,medium-visibility\,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”” background_repeat=”” counter_box_color=”” counter_text_color=”” heading_text_color=”” subheading_text_color=”” link_text_color=””][/fusion_countdown]
