# Global Health and Education Projects (GHEP)

> Eliminate health disparities by addressing the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes.

GHEP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation based near Washington, DC. It designs and delivers grassroots programs anchored in community needs, scientific research and life-course health development frameworks. Its work is built on the Social Determinants of Health framework, focusing on the non-medical factors (environment, education, family support, economic stability) that shape health outcomes in communities.

## Programs

### Greater Prince George's Diaper Bank

A diaper bank serving low-income families in Prince George's County, Maryland. The program addresses diaper need as a core family wellbeing issue with downstream health consequences.

### Family Tree Adoption Program (FTAP)

A community greening initiative through which families "adopt" and care for trees, contributing to local environmental health and family stewardship. So far, 450 trees have been planted through the program.

### Health & Environmental Education

Education programming delivered in schools and community settings, covering both health literacy and environmental health.

### Public Health 360 Fellowship

A 3-month training program for emerging public health practitioners. Tuition is $850, and the program is designed to ground fellows in real-world community public health work.

### Healthy Heart Program

Cardiovascular health initiatives, including community-based education and intervention.

### Health Education & Literacy Portal

An online portal hosting GHEP's health education and health literacy content.

### Research Center

Applied research grounded in community partnerships, feeding back into the design of GHEP's programs.
