We are delighted to announce the 2018 STERMN National Scientific Workshop in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. The workshop will bring cutting-edge research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to Nigeria. The workshop has been approved by the official World Body of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society, Inc. (TERMIS
), whose purpose is bring together the international community of persons engaged or interested in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine and promotes education and research within the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine through regular meetings, publications and other forms of communication.
The theme for the 2018 STERMN National Scientific Workshop is “Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine: the Nigerian Experience,” focusing on the benefits of strong collaboration between Government, Industry, and Academia to understand how tissue engineering and regenerative medicine can revolutionize the Nigerian Healthcare System. With the workshop theme in mind, the 2018 STERMN Scientific Workshop will focus on the following broad issues:
- Trends in Tissue Engineering and Innovative Technologies
- Bone and Cartilage Tissue Engineering
- Organ Engineering and Approaches
- Cell and Gene Therapy
- Role of Medicinal Plant Extracts in Tissue Engineering and Regeneration Medicine
- Engineering Tools for Disease Diagnosis and Treatment
On behalf of the workshop planning committee and our collaborators, we welcome you all to the 2018 STERMN National Scientific Workshop.

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific committee and will be considered for either oral or poster presentation.
Abstracts must be written in a standard scientific English and concise description of your work. Minimal or no use of mathematical modeling and scientific equations are recommended. The abstract must be no more than 250 words typed in Microsoft Word, Aral with a font size of 12. The abstract should consist of title, authors and authors affiliation/contacts, corresponding author.
Abstracts must have the following sub-headers: Background or Objective, Specific Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
