Dr. Anwuri serves as a Director of the GHEP board. He is a Senior Administrator with an international faith-based non-profit organization in Maryland, USA. George is a non-profit manager, epidemiologist, teacher, senior agricultural advisor, development expert, and physical security project manager with over 15 years’ experience in international settings across Africa, Middle East, and USA. Most recently, he served as a Senior Agricultural Advisor for the U. S. Department of Agriculture stationed in Iraq.

As a physical security manager, he has supervised over 200 employees and completed multiple multi-million dollar projects for key clients in United States using leading-edge technology.
For nearly 10 years, George was a Senior Extension Advisor and District Supervisor for the multinational oil giant, Shell Petroleum Development Corporation in Nigeria. In this position, he initiated and managed key community development and agricultural research projects including socio-economic surveys, farmer’s cooperative societies, micro-credit financing, and Shell’s signature Community Affairs, Security, Health, Environment and Safety (CASHES) programs. Under his leadership, the CASHES program touched thousands of lives and uplifted numerous families in rural African communities from poverty.
George holds a PhD in Public Health with specialization in Epidemiology from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN, USA. He also holds an MSc Degree in Agricultural Extension Education with specializations in Rural Sociology, Technological Change, and Agricultural and Economic Development Policy and Planning from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and a BSc degree in Agricultural Economics also from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
