2023

  • GHEP partners with the Town of Riverdale Park, Maryland, to support mothers, fathers, children and families with children birth to 3 years impacted by adversities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) and Prince George’s County (PGC) Government awarded the GHEP County Stormwater grant to scale-up the Family Tree Adoption Program to more communities in PG County, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP partners with the State of Maryland and Chesapeake Bay Trust to increase tree canopy in urban areas in Prince Geoge’s County, Maryland.
  • GHEP accepted into OASPA–Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association, the prestigious publishing association for open-access publishers.

2022

  • GHEP partners with Prince George’s County Council to support families, mothers, fathers, mothers, and families with children aged birth to three through its diaper program.
  • GHEP announces the expansion of its baby diaper distribution program to Prince George’s (PG) Diaper Bank
  • The Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) and Prince George’s County (PGC) Government awarded the GHEP County Stormwater grant for tree plantings on private residential property and educating residents on the benefits of trees.
  • The State of Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) awarded the Urban Trees Program Award to support the Family Tree Adoption Program to plant more trees in urban and underserved communities in PG County, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP partners with Greater Riverdale Thrives Coalition, Coaching Salud Holistica, LLC, and Metamorphosis Community Project, Inc., and Parkdale High School, Riverdale, MD, to implement the first ever Pathways In Health Careers project.

2021

  • GHEP announces the expansion of its baby diaper distribution program to Prince George’s (PG) Diaper Bank.
  • GHEP, the Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT), and Prince George’s County Government continue their partnership to increase tree canopy in PG County, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP among 6 organizations accepted into a community non-profit organization development program sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and Maryland Nonprofits.

2020

  • GHEP supports the Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) and Prince George’s County Government to increase tree canopy in high-priority areas of Prince George’s County neighborhoods with low tree canopy, such as the areas of East Riverdale/Bladensburg, Kentland/Palmer Park, and Langley Park all in USA.
  • GHEP formally scales-up Public Health 360 as a signature program to develop the next generation of public health professionals from across the world and begins partnerships with major universities in the USA.
  • WesBanco Bank Community Development Corporation supports GHEP’s programming.
  • Maryland Humanities supports GHEP’s community services and political history education programming to Prince George’s County, Maryland, residents.

2019

  • GHEP commences strategic planning to streamline programs and vision.
  • GHEP establishes publishing partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, United States

2018

  • The Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) awarded the GHEP Outreach and Restoration award program to support the Family Tree Adoption Program to plant more trees in communities in PG County, Maryland, USA.

2017

  • The Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) and Prince George’s County Government awarded the GHEP County Stormwater grant to scale-up the Family Tree Adoption Program to more communities in PG County, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP registers an Overseas Serving Organization and affiliate in Nigeria, marking its preparation to foray outside USA.
  • GHEP delivers the first free medical outreach to a village in Abajah, Imo State, Nigeria serving over 70 residents.
  • GHEP organizes the 2nd Health, Environmental Education and Awareness (HEEA) Day in Riverdale, Maryland, USA.

2016

  • Prince George’s County and Chesapeake Bay Trust award GHEP grant to scale-up the Family Tree Adoption Program to more communities.
  • GHEP hosts its 2015 Annual Community Health & Environment Fair in Riverdale, MD, USA serving over 300 residents.
  • GHEP serves over 400 community members at the 1st community education resource fair organized by Maryland State Delegate (now State Senator) Hon. Alonzo Washington in Landover, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP launches International Journal of Translational Medical Research and Public Health (IJTMRPH), first open-access journal to disseminate translational and applied public health research studies, as an accompanying journal to IJMA.

2015

  • GHEP receives a Chesapeake Bay Trust (CBT) grant to implement an Outdoor health program and proof-concept a Family Tree Adoption Program offering free trees to private homeowners in Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA.
  • GHEP organizes the first-ever Health, Environmental Education and Awareness (HEEA) Day and Community Picnic in Riverdale, Maryland, USA.

2014

  • GHEP makes a strong case for consideration of health and education disparities in the County’s social and economic policies to Prince George’s County Officials and community members through a strong presentation to the leadership and community members under the aegis of the Transforming Neighborhood Initiatives (TNI).

2013

  • GHEP’s International Journal of MCH and AIDS (IJMA) accepted into the prestigious Directory of Open-Access Journal (DOAJ) indexing platform based in Sweden.
  • IJMA accepted, at first application, for indexing by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) PubMed Central (PMC).
  • A paper published in IJMA is cited in a CNN news report.
  • A paper published in IJMA cited in Lancet.

2012

  • GHEP launches International Journal of MCH and AIDS (IJMA), first open-access global health journal to address maternal and child health and HIV/AIDS.
  • GHEP debuts the International Peer Mentoring Program; program mentors over 10 early career researchers from developing countries on scholarly publishing.

2011

  • Early visionaries from across the world with experiences with adversity discuss ideas to create an organization to address local and global issues with several ideas were floated including addressing minority health and health inequity.
  • GHEP officially registers as a non-profit, non-stock corporation with the State of Maryland, USA. GHEP submits paperwork for Internal Revenue Service recognition.
  • GHEP serves community members at the 2nd community education resource fair organized by then Maryland State Delegate (now State Senator) Alonzo Washington in Landover, Maryland.
